Jason Anton Mark Williams was born in San Fernando on the 25th April 1979 but grew up in the close knit community of Erin, a factor which significantly impacted his early life. From the tender age of 7 he accompanied his mother to various cultural events such as Dimanche Gras and Jou’Vert. This exposure not only enkindled in him a keen interest in the local culture but also a profound appreciation for the music of Trinidad and Tobago. Throughout his school life, Jason was selected on numerous occasions to host different school events due mainly to his innate ability to be outgoing and conversational. Soon enough, it was not long before he realized that this was a passion of his and he was naturally drawn towards fulfilling a career in the field of mass communications. In 1996 he was chosen to be a contestant coordinator in the television programme “Party Time” where he shared the stage with Ayanna Lloyd and the now deceased Jason Daly. While there, his professionalism and creativity caught the attention of O’Brian Haynes who in 1998 presented him with the opportunity to become a radio announcer at the music station 98.9. Once again, opportunity came knocking at his door and he was approached by producer/media personality Lisa Wickham to be a co-host of the television programme series E-Zone. However, this was just the beginning of his career as a television figure/personality, where on his free time he freelanced as a presenter for Synergy TV. Currently, Jason Williams has his own primetime programme, the immensely popular “Synergy Nights” Mondays to Thursdays. In 2005, Red 96.7 FM emerged and he was partnered with Ancil ‘Blaze’ Isaac Jr. to be the voices behind the Red Hot Morning Show, (Mondays to Fridays 6-9am), which was voted the No. 1 Morning Talk Show in Trinidad and Tobago. Joining forces with Ancil ‘Blaze’ Isaac Jr., again reignited the desire to enter the entertainment industry, this time, as soca artistes. From 2007 onwards, the dynamic duo collaborated on soca songs such as “Eat Ah Food”, “Bamsiology” and “Work” intent on making an indelible mark in the music industry. However, nothing could have prepared this unstoppable pair for the fame and success which was to come their way in 2010 with the release of the infectious, blazing hit Palance, produced by Kernel Roberts. J.W. and Blaze monopolized the Carnival season with their action packed stunts and spontaneity palancing away with two of the most coveted and prestigious titles, International Power Soca Monarch 2010 and Trinidad and Tobago Road March 2010. It is to be noted that in the latter, a new record was established with Palance being played 417 times. J.W. is presently the radio host for the #1 Morning Show on SLAM RADIO 100.5 as well as the night host for SYNERGY NIGHTS LIVE on Synergy TV. He continues to make progressive strides in these two stations, and the nation definitely looks forward to his daily contribution. Jason Williams’ achievements are undeniable proof that he is a focused and ambitious individual determined to be successful in all his endeavours. Therefore, his accomplishments should come as no surprise as his personal credo “Once you can believe it you can achieve it” is a living testimony to this.
